Reward Update: Get in Gear!

It’s a June déjà vu, Mighties,

As we plunge into our second Mighty Summer! This time last year we were still knee-deep in development, with No. 2’s stage and the Patch survey well underway. This time around we focus more on rewards than development, with a hint at a special Becker bonus and the opening of our official console selection surveys!

WHO’S THAT BECK??

We get a lot of questions about the special in-game transformation exclusive to certain backer levels. Well it’s all ready to go, and we’d LOVE to show it… but at the same time, we don’t want to deprive our Beckers of the joy of discovering it for themselves. That’s why we opted for a bit of a compromise:

We’re proud to present… ...actually, what the heck is that!?

We know a silhouette isn’t much to go on, but why not get those gears turning and try to figure out what this new transformation is all about?

What new power does this bring to the table? How will it change up Mighty No. 9? What the heck is that thing on Beck’s head?? You can be sure it’ll add an interesting gameplay twist for our few lucky Beckers. We’d love to hear your ideas in fan-art form, forum comments, whatever! Go on, go nuts!

Oh, but don’t go flexing all your mental muscle towards this just yet, Mighties. You have a pretty big decision ahead of you...

BACKER CONSOLE SURVEYS ARE GO!!

That’s right, it’s time to for the console(s) of your choice! We’re lucky to have help from our friends at Humble Bundle on this one; they’ll be sending out surveys to all of our backers next week!

Some important details for this survey:

1) Official Platform Selection Surveys will be open until July15th, 2015.

2) We will make available all current information we have regarding each platform version of Mighty No. 9, to be updated as more details are set in stone.

3) To accommodate any backers who may change platforms as time goes on--due to new console-specific information, console purchases, etc.--backers will be able to change their platform selection(s) up until the survey deadline.

Many of you have been asking for details about each console, and we apologize for our radio silence. We had to make a decision about how much info we were putting out and where, which ended up taking longer than we expected. Here’s all the info we have so far:

windows requirements

so these are the PC requirements?
well, im glad i backed this game up but in the end i can't play it.
i have a single core computer only, and the most recent console i have is ps2.

oh well, at least i got the physical version so i can hold unto it so that une day i may play this game once i get given a more recent computer, maybe in 5 years or more.

on a side note, ive read about the demo but it never tempted me before now so, where can i get it?

Platform Selection survey

I still have not received my survey yet, have they been sent out? What will I get if I don't get it.

Concerning the 3DS

Will there be things about the 3ds version that will be lacking from other platform choices?
I haven't been following close to updates, and, to me, it seems like the game may not look as nice or play as smooth since the 3ds is the least powerful of all the other options.

EDIT: Looking up Deep Silver's latest trailer of the game, I am left with a better impression that the game on 3DS, with the addition of 3D, will look similar if not the same as everything else.

PC requirements seem a lot

PC requirements seem a lot steeper than I expected.  Radeon 7770 is apparently a 2GB card and I'm running a 1GB card (Radeon 7650M).  I somehow doubt the beta backers all had really powerful PC's and mine is capable of running games like Dead Space (all 3) and Mass Effect (presumably all three, just started the first which runs surprisingly well on my i7 despite reported issues with it's multi-core support).

In short I'd like some clarification on PC requirements.

Edit:  I Short

Wii U and 3ds please

So am I to understand ps3, ps4, and Vita have cross-buy But the Wii U and 3DS do not have cross-buy even though it's possible? Is there a reasoning for this?
Mighty No. 2036 M2036's picture

Still new

When nintendo combined your nnid on 3ds and wii u they gained the ability to do so but it's still up to the developer to decide on this. Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is one, and the game Olli Olli is another. Nintendo unfortunatley is being slow on implementing that to their Virtual Console but that could be becaue they combined accounts after the fact and back cataloging is an issue they have to sort out..

But long story short, Yah. They can do it and I'm wondering why playstation owners get the option and Nintendo owners get the shaft.

I second this, it would be

I second this, it would be spectacular to cross your saves over devices.
Since I'll likely buy this on ds as well I guess it doesn't matter, I'll have five different games going

Hmm...

I want to play by Xbox360
when can I know the system requirements?
(sorry, poor English)

Not getting the platform selection survey...

I haven't gotten the platform selection survey yet... Is that normal, or is there probably a problem? I think I recall having this problem once before, due to changing my email address since it was given to humble bundle...

There is a Miiverse community

There is a Miiverse community, just no miiverse in game support. That's what they clarified on twitter.
Mighty No. 48770 Liraco's picture

Miiverse community please

I agree.
I'm hoping it means nothing integrated in-game (stamps and such, for example) but that we still get the community part of Miiverse.
Seeing fanart is always fun, especially with all the talent out there.

Retro Hero Mode?

Hmm...Looks like the the backer exclusive transformation wasn't the Retro Hero Mode after all. Since pre-orders of the retail edition include that, do backers also get this? It would kind of make sense since it's kind of a really early pre-order.
Mighty No. 26993 Knightingale's picture

I have a dumb question. If it

I have a dumb question. If it's cross-buy for all the Playstation versions, would having that be my platform choice give me all three versions, so I could switch from my PS3 to my Vita, or am I just stuck with whichever one I chose.
Mighty No. 27510's picture

Golden Beck and Co-op

Can you give more details about the Golden Beck transformation for the backer reward? I don't want to pick a console only to find it's PC only. Also how will the co-op work? I ideally want the Wii U version as I have been wanting to play on the gamepad. Having local co-op that splits between gamepad and tv would be sweet
Mighty No. 44932 Mighty Rogew's picture

where can i select my console?

I've seen kickstarter, my e-mail, humble bundle and the forum, and i cant find the link to the survey, and since i can only choose until 15th june id like to know ASAP.

I also vaguely remember picking, but i dont remmeber what i picked (maybe i picked 3ds or PC) but it says on this post you can change and id atleast like to make sure if its the right plataform.

The survey that went out

The survey that went out before was for the Fangamer backer rewards (such as the backer-only physical PC copy).

This survey hasn't been sent out yet. As it said in the post, you'll get a mail from Humble Bundle sometime next week to make your selection.

No miiverse support?!

Granted, most games have miiverse support. I just hope it can happen so I can share my experience with my friends. :c As for that transformation for beck? I think its a the helper bot transformation.
Mighty No. 34531 TheDoctor's picture

Yessssssss...

Cross-Buy for backers confirmed! Sweet! Now all they need is to work on the possibility of coding Cross-Play into the release.
Mighty No. 35312 Handlebar-Orion X. Servbot#3759's picture

I hope you'll make patches in

I hope you'll make patches in the future for things like Miiverse and amiibo support on the Nintendo systems, (it would be hilarious if you snuck in a code allowing the megaman amiibo to be compatible,) cross-play on Playstation, and Windows 10 cross-play on Xbox. Take any advantage you have.
