IT’S YOUR CALL NOW! (CALL VOTE #2!)

Mighty Beckers!

 

Back at the end of our Kickstarter campaign, over 80,000 backers, friends and supporters took part in the first round of our community vote to decide the look for Mighty No. 9’s fan-favorite heroine, Call. (Cue dramatic music.)

 

When the dust settled, we were left with three contenders -- three designs that enough of you found worthy enough to continue on to the second round of backer-only deliberation.

 

And so here we are: Starting today, those three finalists return, fleshed out and fully colored in by their original creators (er, well, not Dr. Sanda, but...you know what we mean):

Now, the final contest begins: a battle royale of sorts (shades of the Battle Colosseum, eh?). Which one will form the basis for our heroine in the final game? It’s your Call now! Just follow these three easy steps:

 

  • Check the email you used to back the Kickstarter or to pledge via PayPal (or if you updated your contact email on the forums, check there) over the next four days (we are limited to sending 20,000 a day, so if you don’t have yours yet, please wait just a little while longer! :). And if you don’t see an email after the 23rd, please check your spam filter / junk email folder!

  • Find the email “Mighty No. 9: Community Vote No. 2: FINAL CALL DESIGN!”, and click on the link. It’s a unique URL for each backer, so keep it secret, keep it safe! And then...

  • ...VOTE!

Just remember: You have until the end of day, Saturday, Dec. 28th at midnight PST time to get your vote in, and everyone only gets one vote, so make it count!
 

The final winner will be announced on Dec. 29th, but in the meantime, why not sound off here  (or to our official Twitter account or Facebook page) on which Call you want to / already picked, and why? Or share awesome fan art of your favorite?

Just look at Beck then Look at Call and Choose which one matches the theme of the game better xD I picked call F since I feel she looks better with Beck (: I like all 3 but Call "F"TW!!! (: Come On F you can do it!! xD I think Call E should Still Be in the game Though..Just play a different Roll like Give Helping Tips To beck and Call or something (: I couldnt see Call F doing anything else but being Call >.< Id be happy though with E Id just be sad to see F gone ): unless F could still be in there somehow? xD

You know, I don't particularly like any of the three final designs that much. Don't get me wrong, they are all great, but I feel they're all too much common ground to the Megaman series in general.

I voted for C before, it was a really cool, innovative design, but people seem to be going with things they already know and that it 'feels right' to the Megaman series. For me, Mighty no. 9 is a whole new game and while I definitely acknowledge the Megaman connections, the main reason that I dismiss those final designs is that I wanted something really fresh for Call. Not another Roll. Or Ciel. Or Alia. Or something in-between. I don't mean they're clones of those characters, they're not. But conceptually, they're all there at the same level.

I ended voting for H. At least she looks like a nice mix of E and F and seems the more original of the three to me.

Call E is the least like Roll, but I don't want to vote for the least like something. I want to vote for the one I like.

Went with E, F is a good obvious choice but I feel like E could bring something more unique to the playstyle depending on how they make her fight.
 The other two just seem like plain jump and shoot like character. People are saying E doest look "combat ready" but maybe thats a good thing.

E has the look of an operater character, not someone who would be in the action in her own stage and co-op. F looks like a cute companion character, which is what Call is. H strikes me as fitting for a love interest and not much else, besides hentai...yeah, F fits best.

I understand how some folks don't want a character that looks too much like Roll, but I just can't picture Call as the other two options.  It is a vote after all, so if one of the others win, then I will accept this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for Design F.  The one looks a bit plain, and the other one has a flight attendant thing going on which doesn't really fit my mental image of Call.  Good luck to all finalists!

I wanted to go with an option that didn't look like Roll, but E has a bad colour scheme and H looks skimpy because of those flesh-coloured legs that make her look like her skirt is WAY too short. So I ended up voting F.

F and H is the only two I can comparably see in a combat situation.  Overall, I like F better, not because of nolstagia, but of design.  So, I voted F.

Call is supposed to be more on the robotic side of things philosophically, so having her look like she's in some kind of worker do-as-I-say job seems really appropriate.

Also, the other two both look too much like Roll. I want a new character!

I will go with Call F as out of the three designs, hers most closely matches Beck's feel. H while cute carries a different feel and looks more to me like how I imagine Dr. Sanda to look. Which while not inheirently a bad thing there... Seeing as Call was suposedly made by Dr. Sanda. I just feel that F with the variaty of change seen in the auxillary images showing her changes in expression and the interesting and cute use of the bow on her head, makes for a much more apt Call.

E however, I originally had gone E but after the update and seeing honestly how rude a lot of people are who are voting E. Seriously... insulting people... There's no Call for that. Pardon the pun. But my feeling for E is that the more I look at her... the more I don't see Call in her. E is still a great design but I feel she serves a far different Roll then Call does. Pardon the pun once again.

I'm going F not because of nostalgia, not because of anime or anything like that, I am going F because I like the expressions, the simplistic nature of her clothes (which aren't as simplistic as H), and it doesn't use that horrible little hat. Yes I really don't like E's hat. As riddiculous as that is, but not as riddiculous as blaming nostalgia or what have you.

I'm trying to just draw a point that all the designs are good. Just that everyone shouldn't insult other peoples personal choices if they so happen to chose something other then the one you want. Be happy everyone, enjoy ourselves! This is only the first step on the long road tell the game is done! Let's work together and get this done as a team! (｀_´)ゞ

I like Call F the most out of the three so I'm gonna go for that. Though I think Call E is a close second.

I voted for call F, but I Really did like Call E, but imo Call F matches the game Mighty No.9 much more to me.
