Eventually all the youtube

Eventually all the youtube shrimps and suckerfish are gonna start reporting on this and dog piling on comcept again over this.  Most of them gaurantee'd aren't even on the forums and just recycle words and accussations.  To any of them reading, this is not that bad a thing, I don't think.

I recall that Shovel Knight

I recall that Shovel Knight had no problems launching without all of its backer features, simply releasing the completed single player game at launch, then adding its following updates such as Plague Knight and Multiplayer after it was completed.  While I am not upset at MN9's delay, I consider this project grossly mishandled over the years.

Delayed for multiplayer again?

Do we really NEED online multiplayer on release for a single player game?
Espeially when the core game has been ready since march of last year?

If it wasn't already the

If it wasn't already the mediocre gameplay of what I've experienced firsthand, it's the constant no-talking-to-backers about issues and insisting that it's a 'network issue with multiplayer' that has made me believe this company is run by amateurs.

I had this game set and ordered. I cancelled that pre-order, and every single time you guys come blubbering to us with a "We're sorry" and a PR leveled excuse to why it's being delayed (you know, network issues on a main single player video game of all things) arrives in my email I feel a little better that I'm not going to be wasting time with this.

That being said, I wish I could have asked for a refund at this point.

This is ridiculous. You have literally played us all for chumps, like a fiddle as Kazuhira Miller from Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes said.

Take your time

“A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.”
Really looking forward to Mighty No 9. Too bad about the delay, but these things happen.  I don't know why anyone is surprised. I have literally never supported a crowd funded game that wasn't heinously delayed.

I'm trying to see if a point

I'm trying to see if a point I have is valid here, but how did those projects handle the delays. Were they last minute annoucuments days before release date? Did these teams run other big kickstarters for other projects before finishing the one they have already delayed? Did they stay quiet about rumors of delays until the other kickstarter was over?

Consider this...I work as an android developer and if I promise my client an app on a set release date then I am expected to met that. Now we are human so delays might happen, but I assure you letting a client know last minute that their product will not be ready is not acceptable. So if a client who has to pay for these services wouldn't allow it, then why should we the fans not be upset about it..when it's happened three times?

I assure you its not the delays people are pissed about...

Also this is my personal opinion (esp as a developer who aspire to make games), but “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever,” is kinda oxymoronic because if a bad game is bad forever than delaying it won't make it good.

Myamoto's quote does not apply here.

"A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

I'm seeing this Myamoto quote thrown around a lot from MN9 delay apologists.

I got another one:

"A delayed game COULD eventually be good. But an overly delayed game usually turns into another Duke Nukem forever/Aliens Colonial Marines"

I'm tired of people using Myamoto's quote to excuse this, Comcept is NOT Nintendo. This is the third delay given to us so close to the games release.

I'm in the camp of people who think that this game should be released without the multilayer element until it's patched in when it's ready. It worked well for shovel knight, i can't see why it wouldn't work for mn9. They have said repeatedly since March of 2015 that the main game is finished and ready. It's absurd that this game has faced 3 delays with 2 of the recent ones happening over a non essential online multiplayer feature.

Sorry if I sounded harsh, I'm just frustrated...

Harsh because it's truth. I

Harsh because it's truth. I agree. as if multiplayer mm where to revolutionize the world. it was a LAST adding goal in kickstarter. but bummer, I too, waited too long for this game.

I even forgot about the game until it apeared in the news!

No free pass

I get that it's better for a game to be good than on time, but we shouldn't just accept this as how things go. If they were making this game with a traditional publisher and delayed it three times, you can bet the publisher would chew them out. This is no different. Don't get me wrong, I'm no longer interested enough in this game to get too upset, but this is definitely a problem. Not only did we back the game with a time frame in mind, with each delay it becomes less and less likely that the game will ever actually come out. So imagine if they said it was cancelled instead of delayed; I think the response would be different. But the situation is practically the same; evidence suggests it will just keep getting delayed. I'm not going to gloat because I didn't put that much in; I really feel for the people who put hundreds of dollars into this game. Comcept should at least do SOMETHING for them.

They ARE making this game with a publisher. Deep Silver, in fact.

If this had not been a crowd

If this had not been a crowd-funded campaign, I highly doubt there'd have been this much hate coming from the community.

All I know is, everyone who's complaining about the delays, don't ever become an investor, because if you want to pull out every time there's a dip in confidence, you will not do well.
Mighty No. 40639 Guy with the Hat の写真

This guy get's it.

This is exactly my problem with Kickstarter, that most people treat it like they are "buying" the product early. The whole point of backing these projects is so they get made. Developers aren't obligated to give out copies of the game, they do it as a sign of good faith. Kickstarter doesn't actually require it's projects to give a return on investment, they only require that they keep any promises made during an active campaign.

Yes, these delays are a pain in the ass. Yes, the game is practically done. However the developers are just trying to ship a quality product and keep all the promises they made. There is no reason to be giving them so much grief.

Just patch it in later.

You know all the platforms you're making it available for can have their games patched, right? Everyone is really waiting to get their hands on the single player campaign anyways, so for it to be delayed yet again for the online component is absurd. I stopped caring about this game last year, but was won over by the backer demo. If you lost my attention once, you could easily lose it again and I'm sure that's true for a lot of people.

That's too bad, but I guess

That's too bad, but I guess it can't be helped. Believe me, I'm just as flabbergasted as everyone else here with this 3rd delay but game development are far from easy to progress. I'm sure the development team is just as disappointed over this as us. Besides, spring isn't that far. I'll continue having faith so godspeed, Inafune-san!

Most expensive shirt ever

In all this time all I've got was an alpha test (which was updated to be deleted from Steam of course) and a shirt.

The shirt is cool though but paying $120 for it is totally not worth.

Hurry up.

To the Devs and to the Complainers.

To the Devs:

I know you guys have been working hard to make this game and I appreciate the hard work that you put in to make this game as great a possible. However, I think I would agree with some of the people here that you should stop worrying about the multiplayer aspect of the game and just release the singleplayer part of the game. The only thing that we want to do is enjoy a good game that's reminiscant of classic 2D platform games, mainly Mega Man of course. Also, not a lot of people would actually care about multiplayer right now because that's something that could be included in future updates for the game. Me personally don't like multiplayer at all and prefer just the singleplayer experience. Constantly delaying the game would just make things worse and cause more constroversy towards devs and the company. So again, can you just release the singleplayer aspect of the game and just do the multiplayer part as an update? It would make a lot of people satified, especially the backers so put their money and faith into this game.

To the Complainers:

I understand how to guys feel and I'm also bummed about the constant delays with the game. But saying things like "I knew I shouldn't of backed this game up!" or "I want a refund because I didn't get what was promised!" isn't gonna help. You should of knew by now that things like these were going to happen and we're far past the point were refunds are out of the question. Also whatever high-end expectations you had for the development of the game, you should cast it aside because that's also not helping. The moment you put you put your money up for the game is the moment you put up your faith for the game, hoping it would be success. And as you all know, everything falls into the hands of the devs that are making this game into a reality which is a lot of hardwork and is time-consuming. So delays are going to happen no matter how ridiculous they are. That's all because the game devs are trying to make the game as good as possible. I don't wnt contradict myself with what I said to the devs, so I'm going to put this up to put out a better understanding in general: https://youtu.be/XHAvutqJH_c

With that, I hope things turn out well in the end, have a good day!Smile

:(

It's kinda hard to get excited when the game keeps getting put off. Would've been nice if they'd told us sooner that their engine was no longer being supported and they were having issues. Not every update has to be long. I thought the silence was because they were going to suprise us with like....early access to the game or some pleasant suprise....Cry Not exactly the suprise/update I was expecting to see. Looks like it'll be a while longer. I'm expecting something that will blow my socks off. Don't let me down again.Dead pan

Inafune is a hack and Comcept

Inafune is a hack and Comcept is apparently staffed by monkeys.
This entire development and communication with the backers has been such a joke that I'm surprised there are even enough drones left to eagerly swallow down whatever slimy load you can squeeze out, let alone enjoy it.
To Keitchy I'mawhore, I would tell you to remove your head from your asshole but I doubt you could find it with both hands and a map, you money-grubbing chimp.
I wish I could get a refund at this point. It's only 20 dollars but at the very least I could have bought a cheap dildo and been screwed over less than what Comcept has been doing to the people who supported them in the first place.

Inafune has destroyed the

Inafune has destroyed the trust we had and his reputation.

$321 in backing pledge. Huge regret.

This will haunt comcept down the road. You're nothing without the trust and respect of those who funded you and gave you the chance you have destroyed.

They need to stop putting blame on network bugs. It's an old and tired excuse. It's the same excuse we've heard multiple times over many months.

Comcept has shot themselves in the foot.

Told you so

I knew this was going to happen a mile away, there is no bug issues comcept has been lying and using this excuse over and over again they simply ran out of funding and been using online issues as an excuse and people bought it

Inafune has failed me as bad as capcom is this place is even worst
