GETTING JAZZED FOR JUNE!

Aloha, Mighty Beckers,

Can you believe it’s June already? And like clockwork, the Japanese sun is cranking it up to 11. We’ll be in the rainy season soon, but in the meantime we’ve got a super-cool update to fight off the blistering heat!

OH, YOU TEASE!

Part one of our beat-the-heat update comes from one of the coolest crews we know: 2 Player Productions! They dropped a bomb on us last week in the form of and an awesome teaser for the upcoming Mighty No. 9 documentary episodes. Despite being there for the filming, we all got really excited (a certain Mighty Producer might have been overheard exclaiming “THIS IS AWESOME”), and we’re just as excited to share with with you Beckers!

What’d you think? We hope this gets you guys pumped for the real deal!

And now, in continuing with our Mighty tradition, our 9th update continues with Director Koji Imaeda shedding some more light on the progress of development!

A STAGE OF ICE AND WATER, REVEALED!(?)

Koji Imaeda: ...I guess you could say we gave it away in the last video update, huh? And just like the video shows, our latest ROM added Mighty No. 2’s ice and water stage for Beck to brave!

It took some deliberation between comcept and Inti Creates to get No. 5’s stage to its present state, but No. 2’s stage was a home run right off the bat! This is an instance where Inti Creates’ wealth of experience really shines through. From here Inafune asked to make Beck’s underwater movements seem more, well, underwater-like, and so forth.

Inafune uses robust gestures to convey his image of Beck’s underwater movements.

Oh that’s right, I’m sure you got a glimpse of it in the video, but no underwater stage is complete without an instant-death trap falling section!

I looked on with a faint grin on my face, wondering just how much trouble Inafune would have with this part of the stage; but to my surprise, he cleared it in one go! The surrounding staff erupted into adulation: “Was that for real!?” “Daaaayum, boss!!”
“Don’t underestimate my mad skills!” declares a giddy Inafune to the incredulous yet impressed dev team.

By the way, when I gave this part a go I died over ten times. I can’t wait to see how many times you all fall victim to this section! And after this area...

You come face-to-face with a sub-zero world encased in ice! As you might expect, the floor gets pretty slick, and unsure footing abounds… I think I said this in an earlier update, but I’m the type that puts stages like this off until last.
In his boss fight, Mighty No. 2 wields some nasty attacks using both water and ice. Even Inafune ended up exclaiming “Woah, what’s this guy’s deal!”

Beck gets frozen solid, and Inafune mashes furiously to free him.

In this way, the gimmicks in No. 2’s stage really put your skills to the test (and of course, they’ll get even better with some fine tuning!). The new stages will keep getting added one after another. Just what kind of other challenging situations and harrowing traps await you? We hope you’re getting excited to find out!

Bonus Shot from Art Director Shinsuke Komaki!

Komaki: After the latest Inafune ROM check, members from comcept and Inti Creates discuss how to incorporate Inafune’s requests into the game, as well as hash out which stage to develop next. Amidst this activity I got a chance to snap this pic!

Well… to you it may look like doodles on a whiteboard, but the truth is we’re in a heated discussion over ideas for subsequent stages. Just how does this simple “doodle” make its way to becoming a stage, you say? I hope we get a chance to show you that process.

SUPPORT CHARACTER SURVEY COMPLETE!

Thank you to everyone that voted in the Support Character Naming & Coloring Survey! As always, our gratitude knows no bounds!

With the survey coming safely to a close, we’ve moved on to selecting the comcept and Inti Creates versions. As before, please give us a little time to work on this. When all is said and done, we’ll present all three of these designs together!

Now I don’t know about you, Mighty Beckers, but to us in Japan this cool update was just what the doctor ordered! Did the teaser give you shivers? Did the development update leave you refreshed? Sound off in the comments, on twitterFacebook or the Mighty No. 9 forums!

Stay frosty, and stay Mighty! We’ll see you soon! ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

I CANT WAIT

Every day i wake, i open my e-mail to check news updates.

Every day i check the channel on You tube to see New videos.

Every day i play my ipod, i hear the original sound track of Mno9, to relax while i play Dota 2.

I observe people excited about the game, even on the little scenes of the Gameplay on E3 , AND i really share this enthusiasm.

Every day i wake, i wish i'am on April 2015

Awesomeness

I can't wait to take on all the bosses, not to mention play as Call for the first time. I'm also super excited about Beck's transformations (as shown in the title), the storyline, and new abilities he will possess as well. No words can describe how awesome this game is.
