Big News for Mighty No. 9!!

Big news, Mighties,

OK Beckers -- we’ve been working on something big for awhile now, and finally, today, we can finally let the cat out of the bag (this news will be all over soon, but we’re telling you first!): Mighty No. 9 is teaming up with publisher Deep Silver to release Mighty No. 9 this September!!

Why are we so excited about this? Why should you even care?? Wait, is that a DELAY on the release date?!??11

First of all, yes, it is a delay from our original Spring estimate (which, from reading the comments lately, might not come as a surprise to many of you, given we’re in late April already...) But before you despair, please, hear us out first! The reason for the delay, and the reason we are so excited about this new partnership in the first place, is all the cool stuff it will allow us to add to the game (content that all Backers will get absolutely FREE): Added Japanese (yes!) and French voiceovers (in addition to English), FREE for all backers! Extra subtitle languages (Spanish! French! Italian! German! Russian! Polish! Brazilian Portuguese!) FREE for all backers! And best of all: the entire Ray DLC set -- an entire extra level and boss (and playable character) -- FREE for ALL backers!

And that’s just the big bullet points -- this deal also allows us more time and resources for testing, polish, and the creation of physical retail versions (on some systems), and -- very importantly -- won’t affect absolutely any of our Kickstarter plans or rewards. In short, it will make for an even Mightier No. 9, for backers, for us, and for all our fans, worldwide!

We know this is a lot to take in all at once, and we know anytime a Kickstarter ends up with an outside partner some people will be skeptical, so we’ve prepared a short FAQ that goes into a bit more detail about the hows and whys. See if it answers any questions or concerns you have, and if it doesn’t, let us know!

Too much info for ya? Here’s just the need-to-know stuff in handy infographic form:

You can also check out the official press release here for more nitty-gritty details! If the FAQ and press release do not answer your question, feel free to contact us at mightyno9@comcept.jp, subject line "Mighty Publisher Question".

Here's to a bigger, better Mighty No. 9!(`_´)ゞ

About Backers getting their copies

Alright, i've been reading through all these comments, but i am still a bit confused. I backed enough so i could get the game (i think it was $20 or something) but i am unsure whether we will be getting physical copies or just download codes. Also, when do we decide what platform we get it on? It would be a great help if someone can ease my mind over this XP

just reading this overall and

just reading this overall and seeing a release date is awesome. I've been keeping track of stuff via the updates sent thru email.

to think by sept we are getting this. i can't even remember when I backed this(probably longer than a year ago xD)

still it's finally coming

I pledged for physical box and USB version...

So if I am getting it right, I get the NES (or Famicom)-style physical box, a PC/Mac USB version with free DLC, plus one other digital version with free DLC, but now that we know that there will be retail versions for home consoles, I guess many backers like me will want to reorder their platform of choice for the digital one.

So if now I'd rather decide to buy a home console physical retail version and use up the download code for my 3DS, will the download code still be valid at the time the portables are released?

physical copies

i was wandering how the backers are going to choose to recieve what physical copy and how its going to be sent to us

Didn't I comment on this?

Now for that pledge reward for the physical box, how is that gonna look, if some one is getting the digital version but at the same time, ACTUALLY phsyically copies are being released.

Physical Copies for us

The Physical box WE are getting are different from the physical copies being released. Our physical box will be a "Classic Style" game box meaning NES or Famicom boxes with instruction manual.

So our boxes are still different from non backers.

I don't understand. Why are

I don't understand. Why are some people upset? Nevermind the DLC, we are now getting Japanese voicework for the game, which from the very beginning, should have taken precedence over the English voicework - That's GREAT news! Because, no Japanese voices in the Japanese-esque world of a Japanese IP would have been a MASSIVE letdown.

I understand. But already,

I understand. But already, there are so many great games that came out this year - More than enough to tide us over til September.

I'm all about Mighty No. 9 being the best game it can be, even if it means waiting longer for it, rather than getting it sooner but squandering its opportunity to reach its greatest potential. I mean previously, I took the "no Japanese voicework" for this game as a major offense. And, if Mighty No. 9 ends up being as epic as Rockman 8 and/or Rockman X4, with delight, I will be highly impressed and ever so grateful.

Early backers screwed

Mighty No. 21632 DaveB  "As someone who backed the game with the hopes of getting it for a console all along (Wii U, PS4, etc.), it's really disappointing that being able to get a retail copy of the game isn't on the table"

this statement completely sums up how i feel and that feeling is screwed.

Definitely good news

I think its worth waiting a few more months if it will get the game in store shelfs, ontop of that free DLC. Something to look forward to

So are the backers getting

So are the backers getting the game at the same time as the regular release? Also it seems a lot of people are having problems with the fact that your making changes that definitely would change how people would want the game and im sure there is literally nothing that can be done that would be fair for both parties

As someone who backed the

As someone who backed the game with the hopes of getting it for a console all along (Wii U, PS4, etc.), it's really disappointing that being able to get a retail copy of the game isn't on the table; especially for backers in the higher tiers like those who wanted the physical game box rewards.

Is anything going to be done to address this? Surely there's still ample time to push our rewards surveys to affected tiers and make adjustments accordingly.

Okay, now I wonder if we will

Okay, now I wonder if we will be able to change our rewards.

Physical releases on console would be more interesting then the USB I´ve pledged for, so it would be nice if we backers could get physical discs.

This is actually a good point

This is actually a good point. I too ordered the physical USB add-on, so I could have both a PC version and a console version. But if I could change that to a physical console version and a digital PC version that would be ideal.

Excellent all-around! Waiting

Excellent all-around! Waiting eagerly and patiently for the release! I say take as long as you need to polish and have it ready for us! Smile Mighty salute
Mighty No. 39796 SonicX796's picture

Okay

I'm totally fine with this, different dubs and we get free DLC as well woohoo! I hope to get a special transformation for Beck after defeating Ray. Also Golden Beck.
Mighty No. 23369 Ryusei's picture

physical copy

I'm at the 250 tier. Is it possible to just send us a physical copy of the game with Ray DLC code? I mean, we're going to be getting a big box in the mail of physical rewards anyway...

Version difference

Do we already know what the target resolution-wise on the different systems?

1080p 60Hz for PS3/4 and Xbox 360/One?
Or just 720p 30Hz for some of them?
